Beginners

Tackle, set up & safety, roll cast, basic overhead cast, changing direction, extending line, shooting line, wind directions. Rivercraft & basic entomology.

Improvers/Intermediate

Improvement of all basic casting techniques, side casts, single haul, double haul, distance casting, mending line, sunk line fishing, shooting heads, tactical casts.

Advanced

Snake roll, T cut, single Spey, double Spey, tactical casts – parachute, shepherd’s crook, wiggle, advanced use of hauling techniques.Tuition & advice to potential instructors.

Casting with Double-Handed Rods

Beginners

Tackle, set up & safety, overhead, roll, single & double Spey - right & left banks, bait/spinning techniques, rivercraft, wading.

Improvers/Intermediate

Improvement of all basic casting techniques, jump roll, getting distance, mending line, slack line & sunk line techniques.

Advanced

Snake roll, T cut, single & double Spey, contrived loop, distance Spey casting. Tuition advice to potential instructors. In addition sessions on fishing the Riffling Hitch.
